Regular Style Trapezoidal shaped Wings: This design, as with most of our options, is incredibly flexible. The base yurt you start with can be anyone of our BASIC sizes and with one wing section attaching to each yurt wall section the amount of wings can vary from just a few to almost all of the way around the yurt. Add to this flexibility the fact that our wings can be produced in sizes ranging from 6í to 20í (in additional radius length), the possibilities are truly limitless!

Design-wise, yurts with wings have compact footprints yet seem very spacious inside and provide for a nice separation of space. The active great room is at the center of the design and the quieter and more passive spaces radiate out from this core in a way that can take advantage of your views. The outer view of this type of design has a decidedly Oriental feel - the slope of the wings being at a gentler pitch than the yurt core itself, so the outer roof softens the impact to its neighboring surroundings. These wings can be installed as roofs only, to create covered porches, can be outfitted with all glass to become solariums or greenhouses and can be aggregated in various sizes to give the look and the feel of a nautilus as the structure expands as you proceed around it.

Adding even more flexibility to this concept is the ability to add these wings at any time in the future if you have done some planning ahead at the beginning.
