Green Building - Staying Green thru the Process
Not only do we design “green” homes, we also try to keep the “green” concepts within all aspects of our business. Along with the large array of solar panels on our factory’s roof, we implement sustainable processes in our offices and shop to help the environment by decreasing our carbon footprint.
Green elements of our business:
- Minimize errors in construction by using pre-made jigs and forms.
- Waste is nearly eliminated by reusing scrap material back into the home or for shipping purposes.
- Advanced wall framing techniques with stud spacing more than 16" and insulated headers.
- We have our own framed version of a SIP roof panel.
- Nearly 75% of our standard adhesives and caulks are Low VOC.
- Recycling containers are located and used throughout our facility.
- Unless requested, we send our brochures, drawings, etc electronically rather than using paper products and shipping resources.
- With our facility in Oregon, we are within a few hundred miles of many fast growing forests.
- Continuously implement established, new and eco friendly techniques and products.
